For those who love cooking and want to learn the secrets in preparing typical dishes of our land, today there is the possibility of joining a stay in Sorrento with lessons of our way of cooking. The cooking classes are made in the enchanted and exclusive frame of Marziale Building, Hotel de charme placed in the heart of the historical centre. Antique Patrician residence of Sorrento, it is a perfect fusion of Catalan-Durazzo architecture and elegant and refined furnishings; antique furniture and splendid flower compositions, result of the passion and taste of the master of the house.
The cooking courses are held all year and are organised by Paola Savarese, master of the house, that will satisfy your every need. The advantage of these courses, is the possibility of an extremely personalised service: the groups are never numerous - 10 people at the most - and this allows them to follow and care for the guests with maximum attention in each phase of the dish preparation.
What is prepared is decided along with the master of the house, generally they tend to make dishes tied to our tradition, so that, each guest will have the possibility to learn to make the dish that he prefers, personally followed by Mrs. Paola.
You will have the feeling of a pleasant and relaxing day spent with friends, thanks to which it will be possible to learn all the little secrets to make dishes of our tradition tasty and refined. Being courses made of few people, there will be time to follow and cuddle each one of you, to gather those little details that make a dish unique.
Upon the arrival at Marziale Building, welcomed by the master of the house, you will be able to taste a rich aperitif; a way to meet each other, to appreciate the beauty of the Building and its hanging gardens and to choose, with the help of Mrs. Paola, the dishes to prepare. If you wish you can go shopping with the master of the house in the characteristic and colourful back streets of the historical centre, so that you will have the possibility to really understand where to buy the best products and how to choose them. Once we have returned to the Building the real course begins. Mrs. Paola puts to your disposition two structures, a large "family formed" kitchen that looks at the garden, generally used for courses with few people, so that you have the possibility to feel at home, constantly followed and guided by the master of the house; and, downstairs, a large professional kitchen for groups with more people.
During the summer, when the sun caresses the side of the tuff, the splendid hanging garden is also used, beside the kitchen, here being protected by rich plants and surrounded by a jubilation of coloured flowers, there are tables used to cook: here you can make your dough for Sorrento gnocchi, egg pasta and anything else your ability will allow you to do.
At the end of the course, you will be able to eat a full dinner, full of traditional Sorrento dishes, accompanied by the delights that you will have made … Buon Appetito! We are waiting for you at the Marziale Building!
