Location - Piano di Sorrento
Piano di Sorrento is one of the most renowned centres of the Sorrento Coast. The town owes its name to the Latin Platinies, for its flat conformation. Famous for the cultivation of citruses, it has wonderful hill landscapes and very beautiful beaches. Among the attractions you can visit there are: Villa Fondi, a typical 19th- century garden which hosts the Territorial Archaeological Museum “Georges Vallet”, the wonderful San Michele Arcangelo Basilica that contains four statues attributed to the Bernini school; the San Pietro Hills, rich in several plants belonging to the maquis, the Marina di Cassano, ancient scene of the Piano di Sorrento sailing ships.
