Location - Caserta
Caserta, lying on the suggestive plane of the Volturno, in the Campania hinterland, is famous everywhere for the majestic Royal Palace, built in the eighteenth century by the architect Vantitelli. The town, already existing in the Lombard time, lived a period of great splendour since 1734, with Charles of Bourbon's arrival : it was during these years, in fact, that the Palace was built.
