Vico Equense is the first town welcoming visitors to the Sorrento Coast, land with a jagged and inaccessible coastline, with heady colours and scents. The town lies on a rocky promontory vertically on the sea, at the foot of Mount Faito. Inhabited since ancient  times, Vico Equense keeps testimonies of the civilizations which dominated it, among which Etruscans, Osci and Romans.
