Come to its second Edition, Sapori & Saperi  (Flavours and Knowledges), the annual date with the gastronomical art  of the Region Campania which, in its first edition was characterized by a success achieved thanks to the over 40,000 people, confirms the aimed purpose to become the only reference in the South of Italy. The expository event, in programme from April 24th to 27th 2009, is a longed for national reference date for the excellent agroindustrial sector.  

The Kermess, planned and promoted by the Pompeinow Association with the technical support of the Di Paolo s.r.l. Setting firm, aims to repropose, in the suggestive town of Pompeii, the best wine-gastronomical products, presented by affirmed local firms, from a point of view of promotion and improvement of the typical products of the territory.

The most attentive and exigent visitors wiIl be satisfied and find interesting proposals at table, as well as the representatives of the world of the small and medium-scale retail trade, thus favouring the meeting among operators of various levels of agroindustrial firms and presenting products as an effective means of territorial marketing. Absolute protagonists of the kermess will be the Campania specialities which have always contributed in making the image of the region, universally known as the cradle of the Mediterranean diet , famous. “Sapori & Saperi” is a journey in taste, but not only.

The show intends to promote the typical products and recipes gathered among popular testimonies and ancient texts, with a deep analysis of themes concerning nutritional and dietetic qualities. The exibition brought up-to-date will be also enriched by moments of cultural investigations which will involve institutions, schools, universisties and research centres. During the event a space will be given also to  moments dedicacted to popular traditions, to the performance of folklore groups, of poets and popular storytellers, of  walk-ons in traditional clothes.

The setting of the kermess will be the modern and equipped exhibition area of the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Rosary, whose activity has given origin to the New Pompeii , a bridge between the Neapolitan district and the Salerno one, point of meeting among peoples and cultures that make the Town a symbol of the Made in Italy throughout the world.
